Park City at a Glance
Located just east of Salt Lake
City, Park City is central to the Rocky Mountains and offers some of the best
skiing and snowboarding in North America. Famous for the many resorts that provide
access to eight different mountains and hundreds of acres of skiing, Park City
is a hub of recreational activities that include hiking, mountain biking, rock
climbing, camping, fishing, rafting and a vibrant night life. Five surrounding
state parks, the Rocky Mountains and a steady influx of visitors has created this
mountain town where fine-dining, extreme sports, culture and art can all be experienced
in a single day. Rockport
State Park is a popular destination for day fishing or hiking trip as well
as camping. The park also has a reservoir with a beach and boat launch. Utah
Olympic Park, a venue that hosted many of the 2002 Winter Olympic games, is
another frequently visited attraction. Visitors to this Olympic park and training
center can take tours to the top of the world's highest altitude ski jump and
in the winter ride down a genuine bobsled track. Other venues from the 2002 Winter
Olympic Games dot Park City's landscape, offering experiences that can only be
found in a few select cities around the world.
